What is it that makes us move? What is it that pushes us to continue on our journey relentless in our quest to make learning matter? My experience at #ISTE2014 has reaffirmed…technology initiatives should be less about the technology, and more about the relationship. The narrative evokes emotion, and emotion incites action. And people. People move us.

Too many educators face resistance and face structural barriers that extinguish hope and deny progress. The dynamics of a toxic environment poison the positive. But if our intrinsic desire to move education from noun to verb, from archaic to authentic is fueled by the enthusiasm of like minded professionals…when then?

Opportunities to discuss all that really matters with all that believe in what really matters fuels the heart’s quest. And even better, those conversations lead to connections and continued collaboration. When classrooms are using technology in a transformative way and sharing the journey with the community…what then?

There is a power in gathering all that have committed their life’s work to designing meaningful learning opportunities, to reaching all students, to inspiring all learners. There is a beautiful power in the collective. As we all travel back to our region and to our position, this momentum must continue. And it can.
