I first met Amy Burvall in Boston during Alan November’s BLC conference. Her passion for creation was evident. Years after we first met, I began following Amy on Instagram. Through conversation and commenting, we began discussing collaborative opportunities. I often post poetry. She posts art. During a chat with Amy last Friday night, #visualverse was born. Her genius idea sparked our collaborative effort!
Each Sunday, I will write a verse. I will “volley” that to Amy using the #visualverse hashtag.
She will respond with a design inspired by my verse. This volley will continue on Sundays as the creative spirit allows.
Amy is in Hawaii. I am in Iowa. We have only met face to face twice, both times in Boston. Because time and space are not barriers in a connected world, we can be inspired by one another’s creation. I am thankful I have access to opportunities like these and professionals like Amy. I am hopeful students are as fortunate to experience the power in passion connected collaboration.
